Esta nueva Crisis está fuertemente vinculada con la CRISIS EN TIERRAS INFINITAS (incluso se promocionó como un evento para celebrar los 20 años de dicha Crisis) y para hacer más estrecho este vinculo, cuenta con la participación del artista original de la Crisis: George Perez. Perez ilustra no solo las portadas, sino algunos pasajes de la historia, comenzando en el número 2 de la serie. También ha sido contratado Marv Wolfman, autor de la Crisis original, para escribir un especial de ARCHIVOS SECRETOS donde se revelará cómo es realmente el vinculo entre estas dos Crisis.

RANN/THANAGAR WAR!! a las 15:30

La serie surge de la miniserie Planet Heist protagonizada por Adam Strange que terminaba con el inicio de una guerra entre las dos razas del título… En esta serie, se recuperan personajes como la L.E.G.I.O.N. de Vril Dox, los Omega Men y muchos más conceptos que estaban olvidados en el Universo DC actual. Para ello, se aprovecharon de la buena acogida de la miniserie de Adam Strange y el relanzamiento de los Green Lantern Corps… Básicamente, la serie se centra en la guerra entre los planetas de Thanagar (del que procedían el Hawkman y la Hawkwoman del espacio) y Rann (el mundo adoptivo de Adam Strange) y las acciones que se desenvuelven alrededor de la misma. La unión con el Countdown, para mi gusto, fue la más forzada de todas (se nota muchísimo que está metida con calzador en el especial) y para mantenerla unida al Universo DC se enviaron a Hawkman, Hawkgirl y Kyle Rainer para fortalecer esa unión…

Lex Luthor, Talia Al Ghul, Deathstroke, el Dr. Psycho, el Calculador y Black Adam forman una Sociedad Secreta para, uniéndose todos los villanos del planeta, tener una defensa contra las actuaciones de los héroes. Un grupo de villanos (los Seis Secretos) liderados por el misterioso Mockingbird formado por Catman, Deadshot, Cheshire, un Parademonio (¡¡inteligente!!, bueno, más o menos), Ragdoll y Scandal se oponen a ellos. Lo que la Sociedad Secreta (cuántos secretos, ¿no?) no sabe (o no le importa) es que los componentes de los Seis Secretos están amenazados por Mockingbird con la muerte de sus seres queridos para que lleven a cabo las misiones que él les ordena. Luthor y cía. aprovecharán a estos Seis Secretos para dar una lección a aquellos villanos que no se unan a su grupo… o al menos eso intentan....

La serie está directamente relacionada con el especial Countdown to Infinite Crisis, fijaos si estará relacionada, que se inicia cinco minutos después del final del mismo, narrando las acciones que se llevaron a cabo después de ese momento (los que lo hayan leído, ya sabrán a qué me estoy refiriendo, los que no… lo siento, pero no voy a decirlo). La serie está centrada inicialmente en la organización Checkmate, una organización secreta que hace aquello que no pueden hacer los gobiernos elegidos democráticamente. Pero, muy pronto se centra en las acciones que lleva a cabo el Rey Negro de Checkmate para lograr el control de la misma y, sobre todo, la eliminación de todos los seres con superpoderes del Universo DC. La historia está narrada a través de las acciones del Caballero del Rey Negro, Sasha Bordeaux, antigua aliada de Batman hasta que se unió a Checkmate. Batman está muy relacionado con esta serie, ya que el Rey Negro utiliza una creación suya, el Hermano Ojo, para controlar los movimientos de todos los superseres de la Tierra. Las razones de Batman para crear el Hermano Ojo se descubren en la aclamadísima serie limitada Identity Crisis y en el especial (muchísimas veces citado) Countdown to Infinite Crisis. Cuando Checkmate comienza a oponerse a las decisiones del Rey Negro, este, a través del Hermano Ojo, activará una contramedida muy especial, los OMAC (One Man Army Corp) a los que ordenará destruir a los héroes…
